殷墟的墓葬共有8000多座，包括王陵和大量贵族墓。

More than 8,000 tombs were found in the Yin Ruins including the tombs of the kings and many tombs of noble families.

　　这一带是殷墟的王陵，共发现了13座大墓。在陵墓中发现很多的殉葬人群，用活人殉葬是奴隶社会贵族的丧葬习俗。

Here is where the kings were buried. So far, 13 royal tombs have been excavated in the area. There were many sacrificial people buried in the tombs. It was the custom of the slavery society to use human sacrifice.

　　1976年，在小屯村北面百米处，还发现了商王武丁的王后妇好的墓。妇好是已知中国最早的女将军，在当时地位很高。

In 1976, in the northern part of Xiaotun Village, the tomb of Fuhao, the queen of the king Wuding, was found. Fuhao was the first woman general ever known in the Chinese history. She enjoyed a very high social status when she was alive.

　　这个墓保存完好，出土随葬器物1928件。这是其中的青铜器，共有468件，以礼器和武器为主。有铭文的铜礼器190件，其中铸“妇好”铭文的共109件。这是两件铸“妇好”铭文的大铜钺。这么重、这么大的铜钺与其说是武器，还不如说更象征着战争中的权威和地位。

The tomb was well preserved and there were 1,928 pieces of objects excavated, among which 468 pieces were of bronze. They were mainly ritual vessels and weapons. There were 190 pieces of copper rituals with inscriptions, among which 109 were inscribed with Fuhao’s name. These are two big copper battle-axes inscribed with the characters “Fuhao”. Copper battle-axes, so heavy and big, are not so much of a weapon as a symbol of power and status.

　　这是玉器，有755件。 墓葬中还有将近7000件海贝。

This is made of jade. 755 jade pieces were found in the tomb with nealy 7,000 sea shells.

　　妇好墓是殷墟宫殿宗庙区内最重要的考古发现之一。

Fuhao’s tomb is one of the biggest archeological discoveries in the Yin Ruins.
