This book, divided into three parts, is written in
response to the needs of the new era of phonetics teaching and research in
international Chinese education. The first part mainly introduces the basic
knowledge of modern phonetics and the use of Praat, a phonetic analysis
software, the middle part aims to refresh the old and learn the new, so that
the general readers can learn more about the new discoveries of Chinese
phonetics in addition to the phonetic knowledge of Modern Chinese, and
the last part, based on several excellent dissertations of Teaching Chinese as
a Second Language major, distills effective research methods and important
research results in the form of case studies, expecting to give readers
inspiration or reference.
