This book
collects the research findings at the first APEC (Asian-Pacific Economic
Cooperation) education forum held at Beijing Language and Culture University,
including more than 20 papers written by Chinese, Malaysian, Philippine,
Vietnamese, Bruneian, Thailand, Australian, American and Peruvian educational
officers, experts and scholars. It discusses the importance, feasibility and
the future development of regional language education from four aspects, i.e., the
language education policy and talents cultivation, the globalization and

Prof. Li
Yuming, the Secretary of Beijing Language and Culture University CPC Committee,
focuses his research on Linguistic Theories, Modern Chinese, Psycholinguistics,
and Language Planning. He published more than 10 works, including Children’s Language Development, Explorations on the Systematic Acquisition of Han Ethnic
