This
is a business Chinese textbook for foreigners learning Chinese, suitable for
international students of advanced Chinese language programs and third-year (or
above) undergraduates studying at Chinese universities. It is also suitable for
students with equivalent Chinese proficiency in Chinese training classes or
universities in countries other than China. It is composed of 15 lessons. Every
lesson or every two lessons comprise one topic, covering the major areas that
foreign businessmen take their business activities in China: China’s economic
situations, investment environment, investment strategy, business management,
human resources, market research, marketing strategy, international trade, and corporate
culture. Each lesson comprises five units, namely intensive reading, reading,
writing, interactive activities, and comprehensive exercises, which improve
students’ proficiency in business Chinese from listening, speaking, reading,
and writing perspectives and enhance their understanding of China’s economy and
trade.

Huang Weizhi, born in 1940
in Jiangsu and graduated from the Department of Chinese, Beijing Normal
University in 1964, is a professor in University of International Business and
Economics. She was awarded the prize for excellent achievement in philosophy
and social science among Beijing colleges in 1992. Her publications include: Essentials of Chinese Poems (4 volumes),
the Business Chinese Conversation series (elementary, intermediate and advanced), the TV series Chinese for Business (26 volumes), Business Chinese (26 volumes) broadcast
on CCTV, and International Business
Chinese (50 volumes) supervised by Hanban and Ministry of Education.
