Feng
Shengli is a professor of the School of Linguistics, Beijing Language and
Culture University. He is currently the director of Zhang Huang Institute of
Academic Theory of Beijing Language and Culture University, and chief professor
of Tianjin University Language Science Center. His research interests include
the study of Zhang Huang's academic thoughts, the history of Qianjia's
"Libi" thought, exegetics, prosodic grammar, stylistic-register
grammar, Chinese diachronic syntax, and ancient Chinese prosody literature. Published
16 academic monographs (including 2 in English, and 2 translated into English
and Korean), and published more than 170 academic papers in Chinese and
English. He is currently the co-editor of " Studies in Prosodic Grammar" and
"Journal of Chinese Language" (JCL, SSCI index).
Ma Qiuwu is a professor of Beijing Language
and Culture University, Bachelor and Master in English from Tianjin Normal
University, PhD in English Language and Literature from Beijing Normal
University, third-level professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of
Foreign Languages of Nankai University, Dean of Tongji University School of
Foreign Languages, Tongji Distinguished Professor, PhD supervisor, second-level
professor of Fudan University School of Foreign Languages. In 2003, he was
selected as a doctoral supervisor in Nankai University, and in 2005 he was a
post-doctoral supervisor. In 2006, he was selected as the New Century Excellent
Talent of the Ministry of Education. He is currently one of the
editors-in-chief of " Studies in Prosodic Grammar", editorial board
member of "Contemporary Linguistics", "Modern Foreign
Languages", "Foreign Languages and Their Teaching",
"Journal of Beijing International Studies University" and other
publications, chairman of the 6th International Conference on Rhythm,
undergraduate teaching of the Ministry of Education Qualified evaluation and
review evaluation expert, member of the National Educational Steering Committee
for Master's Degree in Translation, member of Shanghai Municipal Educational
Steering Committee for Master's Degree in Translation, Executive Director of
the Chinese Society for Modernization of Languages, Chairman of the Research
Society of Chinese International Communication, etc. Main research areas are linguistic
theory and application. He presided over 6 scientific research projects at or
above the provincial and ministerial level. He has published more than 80
academic papers in important core journals, including Chinese Language,
Contemporary Linguistics, Foreign Languages, Modern Foreign Languages, and
Foreign Language Teaching and Research, in the linguistic and linguistic
circles at home and abroad, as well as more than 20 compiled books and
monographs. In recent years, in accordance with the agreement of the Commercial
Press, he continuously translated “Doing Optimality Theory (John J. McCarthy,
2008)” “Tone in Lexical Phonology (Douglas Pulleyblank, 1986) ” “Phonology and
Syntax: the Relation between Sound and Structure (E. Selkirk, 1984)” “Intonational
Phonology (Robert Ladd, 1986/2008)” “The Sound Pattern of English” (Noam
Chomsky & Morris Halle, 1968)” five monographs with more than 3 million
words.
