This
book is a selection of Professor Lu Jianji’s academic achievements since 2014,
mainly focusing on the concept of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the
construction of pedagogical system, and the research on the history of teaching
Chinese as a foreign language. It aims to sum up the experience and
deficiencies of teaching Chinese as a foreign language since its establishment,
and then put forward leading teaching concept and pedagogical system with
Chinese characteristics.
Lu Jianji, professor in Beijing Language and Culture
University, served as the president and editor-in-chief of Beijing Language and
Culture University Press during 1984 to1995, taught or did research in the
United States, Italy, Pakistan and the United Kingdom and was a consultant on
Chinese language teaching for the New South Wales Department of Education in
Australia. His research mainly focuses on language teaching theories,
especially interlanguage theories, Chinese-English comparison and CFL teaching
history. Professor Lu is the author of Reflections on Teaching Chinese as a
Foreign Language and On Creative Methods in Teaching Chinese as a
Foreign Language and the editor of Chinese for Beginners, Chinese
for Beginners: Intensive Reading, The Commercial Press Chinese Learning
Dictionary, Learn to Read Chinese Characters: A Study Guide, Learn
to Write Chinese Characters: A Study Guide and other monographs, textbooks
and reference books on teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
