The Grammar Course for Chinese Proficiency Grading
Standards, consisting of 9 volumes, is completely based on the “Appendix A
(Normative) Grammar Grading Outline” of the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for
International Chinese Language Education. Volumes 1 to 6 correspond
to Levels 1 to 6 of the Grading Standards one by one, and Volumes 7
to 9 correspond to Levels 7 to 9 of the Grading Standards, which are divided into
three sub-volumes.This book explains each grammatical point from the aspects of
structure, semantics, pragmatics, etc., and emphasizes the practical
application of grammar. At the same time, in order to meet the examination
needs of learners, it provides a sufficient and rich set of HSK simulation test
questions, enabling learners to study, practice, and test immediately. Through
learning, practicing, testing, and applying, it comprehensively improves
learners’ five language skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and
translation. This book can be used as a textbook for classroom teaching by
front-line Chinese teachers and for tutoring in Chinese proficiency
examinations. It can also serve as a reference book for Chinese learners at the
corresponding proficiency level to study grammar independently and prepare for
the HSK.

This textbook series of grammar learning and practice
features the core characteristics of “Three Easiness” (easy to understand, easy
to look up, and easy to remember) and “Three Quickness” (quick to learn, quick
to practice, and quick to apply), which are reflected in the fact that each
grammatical point consists of explanation and comprehensive exercises. The
explanation part includes five sections: grammatical interpretation, common
collocations, formulaic formal structures, relevant descriptions, and
comparisons, which are clear with prominent key points. The comprehensive
exercises are strictly matched with the explanation part of the grammatical
points. The exercises are compiled based on the structural, semantic, and
pragmatic descriptions of the grammatical points, striving to combine
explanation with practice and allowing learners to practice as they learn. The
types, contents, and the difficulty levels of exercises are all closely
centered on the testing characteristics and requirements of the HSK, meeting
the examination needs of Chinese learners at all levels. As such, it realizes a
closed-loop path from grammar learning to grammar application and grammar
testing.
This book is suitable for Chinese learners who have
mastered the vocabulary at Level 1 of the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for
International Chinese Language Education.
It is recommended that learners, according to their
own situations, complete the corresponding exercises after studying the
grammatical points.
