This book systematically discusses the establishment and development of grammar system of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. It makes thorough analysis of the existing problems in this system and puts forward a complete set of new scheme for reforming grammar system in teaching and improving methods of teaching grammar (e.g. the selection and arrangement of grammar items). It also gives detailed analysis of the difficulty in grammar teaching, such as the teaching of separable words. This book is the enlarged and revised edition of the 1994 edition. The author’s latest research results are also included.
Lu Wenhua is a professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, a part-time researcher of Institute of Studied Linguistics of Shanghai Normal University, a part-time professor of Shenyang Normal University and Beijing University of Chemical Technology as well as a member of Chinese Linguistics Society. She has lectured at the universities of Italy, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macao of China. She is interested in pedagogical grammar, especially pedagogical grammar in the field of TCFL. She has published Explorations of Grammar of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, A Study on the Grammatical System of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and worked as a chief editor of Basic Chinese Textbook (Teacher's Edition), the Commercial Press Learner's Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese. In addition to that, she published more than 40 papers in national and international journals.
